Ipsy Bag
The January Ipsy bag is very cute. It has a pink border zipper and the whole bag is white and blue stripes. It is completely cloth.
The products inside the bag are:
1. FIRMA BEAUTY 102 Elite Blush Brush
Product Description from Ipsy: These FIRMA BEAUTY brushes make us feel *so* glam—they’re designed by Japanese artisans in Kumano, Japan, where beautifully-designed brushes have been made for over 200 years. This blush brush has a dome-shaped head that picks up just the right amount of pigment to blend onto your cheeks evenly—and it feels baby soft on your skin.
Price: $15.99
Rating: You know how I feel about brushes, I love them. Although I must admit I’m not a fan of the dome shape for blush, I prefer an angled one. Regardless, I know I will find a good use for this brush so I will rate it a 2.
2. HEMPZ Ultra Moisturizing Herbal Lip Balm
Product Description from Ipsy: Enriched with 100% Pure Natural Hemp Seed Oil, it conditions, softens, and hydrates the delicate skin on your lips. Wear it alone, with your fave lip colors—your lips will be healthy, happy, and *so* pretty. Like all of HEMPZ formulas, this one is paraben-free, gluten-free, THC-free and cruelty-free.
Price: $8.99
Rating: I have very dry lips (it’s my fault, I don’t drink enough water 😅), so lip balms are a must for me. I tried this one and it works really great. It also does not taste bad (important as it is inevitable to taste what is on your lips). The only downside is, it does not last very long on your lips, so keep that in mind if you use it with a color. I will rate it a 2 because I will just use it to moisturize my lips.
3. NAKED COSMETICS Heavey Metal in HE-04
Product Description from Ipsy: This loose powder shadow is formulated with high grade, 100 percent oxidized mica, which means crazy, vibrant color without any filler (like talc, oil, or wax). This stuff goes beyond your typical eyeshadow—use it as a liner, lipstick, even nail polish. Just blend with water, lip balm, or a clear top coat to see all the possibilities. Animal lovers, rejoice. NAKED COSMETICS formulas are always cruelty-free.
Price: $14.99
Rating: I’m not a fan. I don’t think I will use it. I don’t know how to work with loose eyeshadows, that’s too advanced for me, I will rate it 0.
4. CIATÉ LONDON Wonderland Mascara in Black Magic
Product Description from Ipsy: Volumizing, lengthening, curling, defining: It’s no wonder (get it?) this mascara’s become our go-to for out-of-this-world lashes. Its superpower lies in an hourglass-shaped wand that coats every single lash (even the teeniest ones) in rich, carbon-black color, and lifts them for a full 24 hours. Another reason to love? This product is cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. The stats are super impressive. In a panel, 95.4% saw 24-hour long wear results, 96.4% saw intense lash volume and curl, and 95.5% saw extreme lash length.
Price: $8.10 (The full-size mascara is $22.00 for 9.5mL so this is the approximate price for 3.5mL)
Rating: Full-disclosure, I have not tried this mascara, but I love getting sample mascaras. You are supposed to replace your mascara every 2 to 3 months, so a full-sized mascara seems to be a waste. I no longer buy them and just use the samples I get. I will rate this a 2.
5. THEBALM COSMETICS Alternative Rock Vol. 2 Blush in Bare Minium
Product Description from Ipsy: The matte, warm peachy shade (which looks gorg on all skin tones) immediately wakes up your entire face and gives you that radiant, lit-from-within glow in a snap. The formula is triple-milled, which means it’s super blendable (never streaky!) and ultra-pigmented. This product can also be worn in the crease as a transition shade to any eye look. All of THEBALM’s products are paraben-free, talc-free, and cruelty-free—so they’re not harmful to you or your furry friends.
Price: $3.05 (maybe, this is a palette with eye and cheek products, so I just divided the regular price with the number of pans. There is no other way I could determine an approximate size)
Rating: I am a blush hoarder, and this color is very neutral. Perfect for every day use. I’m really excited about this one so I will rate it a 2.
Total Ipsy Bag Products Value: $51.12
Ipsy Bag Rating: 8/10
My Ipsy bag rating is as follow: 2-I love the product, 1-I like the product, 0-I don’t like the product.
